New Zealand’s commercial brewing industry is as diverse as the people who work in it. The industry is made up of over 185 breweries – from the smallest businesses producing under 50,000 liters a year to the largest that produce over 2 million liters. It is estimated that the brewing industry in NZ employs close to 2000 people.

This means that the brewing industry can offer careers in a wide range of areas from food science to manufacturers, marketers and brewers and everyone in between.

People in brewing are a passionate crowd who care deeply about the quality of the product their making and the community that they are serving. Our breweries are located in cities and towns throughout NZ with each region having is own special culture.

Crafting high quality beer is immensely satisfying and fun – but it is also hard work and requires people who work hard, are keen to continuously improve and who are determined to succeed.
